Bothell, WA – After a gap of almost three years, Cascadia College is back at community events. With COVID-19 cases waxing and waning periodically, in-person events were a thing of the past. However, with widespread vaccinations and the general public embracing life in a pandemic, Cascadia College is out and about making its presence felt.
Back in May, Cascadia participated in Centro Cultural Mexicano’s Cinco de Mayo Fiesta para la Familia. Held at Redmond Downtown Park, this free event saw a large turnout as families enjoyed a rare rain-free day outdoors. “Our goal is to empower communities by providing programs for education and by building strong connections through art and culture. We are proud to share the brilliance and beauty of our culture in a way that all can enjoy and it,” said Angie Hinojos, Executive Director of Centro Cultural Mexicano.
Also in May, Cascadia College and UW Bothell sponsored Pups and Cubs 1K at the UW Bothell Husky 5K event. This virtual and in-person race helped raise funds for student scholarships.

“It is invigorating to connect with our surrounding communities again, and share with them the many opportunities and resources available at Cascadia College,” says Sara Gómez Taylor, Cascadia College Director of Marketing and Outreach. If you see us at one of the upcoming events, please stop by to say hello! We are thrilled to be back in the community and eager to celebrate the summer with everyone.
